in the city of concord and the senseless act of vandalism is costing many residents hundreds of dollars. brian flores is talking to some people and has more. >> reporter: we're live here at the 1400 of bel air drive at a condo complex. at least ten cars in this complex alone had their tires slashed. an additional 50 in the concord area. residents -- residents are trying to find other ways to get around and are paying for it. some concord residents are left with frustration. >> we're looking at $800 replacing all of the four tires because it's all the four tires that were damaged. >> reporter: she has not the only one -- she was not the only one. police say the first calls came in before 7:00 a.m. on sunday targeting glazer drive, mochado drive and bel air drive. at least nine cars were hit at one condo complex. >> it's a non-gated entry. i think that would help, or maybe just someone patrolling. we don't really know what the situation is going to be. >> kind of disheartening. to see our customers coming in having to deal with that. >> reporter: tire stores around concord were busy all day. the

:00 hour. you can see some 60s already out towards san jose and walnut creek. concord checking in 60 degrees. santa rosa 57. napa still on the cooler side. at last check reporting 50 degrees. forecast headlines for tonight, patchy fog and clearing out there for today. and then tomorrow some patchy morning fog, a little bit warmer. a few neighborhoods approaching the 70-degree mark as we do head toward thursday and friday. the weekend no rain clouds just yet. just a little bit of a dropoff in temperatures. high pressure continues to strengthen off shore. as a result, the storm track being pushed up way to our north. with the high in place, though, going to hold on to some patchy fog first thing tomorrow morning. it's a very stable setup. the key here, we're locked in this dry weather pattern right on through the weekend. our next chance of some rain and the forecast models kind of getting a better idea. that could be on tuesday. but does not look like a big deal at all in materials of significant rainfall but -- terms of significant rainfall but still a switch in the weather pattern n

, we'll see a new record, concord, 70. hayward, 70. in the south bay, warm, 72 for san jose. 73 morgan hill. 76 expected in santa cruz. there's the extended forecast. so the weekend still looking good. just not as warm. temperatures will fall back a bit on saturday. more so on sunday. with the return of the onshore breeze, we should expect to wake up with some fog on sunday morning. monday turning cloudy. temperatures now into the 50s for the afternoon highs and by tuesday, that wet weather finally arriving. we shower could use it. it looks like anywhere from 3/10 to an inch of rain. low snow levels down 2500 feet for some areas. not a lot of skiers will be excited by that. >>> palo alto high school has received a very generous gift. an anonymous donor is offering up to $20 million to rebuild the indoor athletic facilities at the school. the money would be used to build two new gyms, a dance studio, weight room and classrooms. the donor wants to work with an architect to design the new facilities. construction could start next year. >>> a wrongful death lawsuit filed against the maker

, 56 hayward and oakland, 50s concord, napa 54, walnut creek, the warm spot at this hour, 66 for you. seeing a few low 60s in some of the neighborhoods in and around walnut creek as well. so we have a fairly pleasant weekend in store. i am tracking this weak system here but it is really not going to bring us much. maybe a few clouds, maybe a little drizzle tomorrow morning but it is going to take an insidetrack. we call it an inside slider so moisture starved and again only going to bring us perhaps a few clouds and maybe cool us down a little bit on saturday. take a look. at noontime you can see that line of rain well north. about 5:00, 6:00, it is over the northwest corner of california, the clouds increase by tonight, tahoe may receive snow but that is about it. i will fast forward you into tomorrow morning. we wake up with clouds, maybe drizzle here and there. if you are heading to tahoe for the weekend morning showers so snow tomorrow morning then clears out, by 1:00 with sunny skies and tahoe as well, behind this system breezy, so temperatures tomorrow cooler and breezy in some

vanished nearly 30 years ago. last night, ktvu news took exclusive pictures of police leaving the concord apartment of kevin collins' mother. we've learned police showed family members a picture of the lead suspect in this cold case. he is dan tharien who died five years ago. police interviewed him just five days after kevin collins disappeared in 1984. >> i'm convinced the investigation is going in the right direction. >> last week, police dug up the concrete floor of the home where therrien lived at the time of the 10-year-old's disappearance. it was just a few feet from the bus stop on the sonic avenue where kevin was last seen. >>> the boy scouts say they will wait until may to decide whether to lift its ban on gay members and leaders. a vote has been expected today on a proposal that would allow local troops to decide whether to welcome gay scouts. but board members say they need more time to gather feedback. the group says the executive board will prepare a resolution for voting members to consider at a meeting in may. >>> the coastguard is issuing a warning today about dangerous su
